- Erk. Not sure I agree with this move by the GOP. Is it more than a battle between terminology, marriage verse civil union, or ideology? Marriage is a religious term. Civil union is not. Either way, IMO, it shows the continued downturn of society. All because there are more and more people who accept it doesn’t mean that’s the norm. If everyone started to murder each other would that then become the normal and we all just accept that murder is fine?
