How much do you download? Well apparently it doesn’t matter if you have Comcast. Without any specific guidelines they are canceling customer accounts because of “excessive” bandwidth usage. It’s nice they advertise “PowerBoost” which provides “Faster surfing. Faster Video. Faster Music.” etc, etc, etc but use too much of it and they cut you off. Nice. I think someone is feeling that competitive crunch from FIOS.
To think that for most of us we have two choices for high-speed internet: cable or DSL (which IMO isn’t all that fast) and now there’s FIOS (if it’s in your area). For a country that argues we’re Number 1 so much in so many different categories, England touts an impressive 59 different choices for high-speed internet. Ya think someone in America is holding onto a monopoly?
Looks like Metro is going to raise rates again. Yeah!
I guess it’s a DC Metropolitan thing where they can’t balance their budgets and there’s a ton of waste in the system. (MD has a $1.4 billion deficit and VA has a $641 million budget shortfall) On a positive note, it looks like if you live in Virginia and are thinking about making upgrades to your house they are having an ENERGY STAR tax free day.
