$4 Billion …

No, that wasn’t added to our National debt but that’s what Disney paid for Marvel.  Yes, the Marvel that has Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Hulk, Iron Man, etc, etc ,etc.  Even though Disney has said “Marvel will maintain its artistic independence under Disney” I still wonder how Disney may take the edge off of some of the Marvel characters.  That and Universal Studios Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Florida was part Marvel themed.  I wonder what happens to that amusement park?  It really was a fun park because of the Marvel theme rides.

And So It Has Begun …

So long to the days of my youth.  The transformation to mean, old, cranky adult has come to pass.   What I mean is growing up at church I was pretty hyper and loud.  People would tell me to be quiet or to stop running in the church hallways.  Today at church there were a couple of rambunctious little girls who I had to shush quiet and told them to stop playing around during service.  Of course they didn’t listen to me.

Ever thought about how to stop getting telephone books?  Maybe this will help.

‘Rough’ school? …

A pretty good article about the life of a local high school principal.  It’s funny how competitive things have become that parents are lining up their kids basically from birth to be the best of the best.  I’m sure we’ll be the same way if and when we have kids.  But hopefully we don’t go overboard as like the one parent in the article seemed to have gone.  Then again we know some parents who are already like that with their younglings.  

I did like the quote about how one fight could label a school ‘rough.’  oooooh.  a ‘rough’ school.  pfffffffff   Personally I think it would be good for today’s youth to stop being so sheltered and face reality.  To finally learn that the world doesn’t revolve around them and the world around them can be cruel.  It’ll only help them in the future.  The earlier they learn and see this the better I think they’ll be at adjusting to things that we would deem good and bad.  If they only see the good and only know of the good how would they know what bad is?  Wouldn’t everything just be good?

Well sorta.  Interesting article about how one can determine if they potentially may develop Alzheimer’s disease.  Don’t you just love catchy tag lines?  Originally that’s what made me read the article.  Speaking of health topics, another good commentary about the future downfall of the primary care doctor from a primary care doctor.  That’s actually scary! 

M$ apologizes but why do people care?  Only because they know one certain group will complain.  If it would have happened to a different group, any other group I doubt they would have cared.

The End is Almost Near …

At least for the “Cash for Clunkers” program.  Even with an infusion of $2 billion more dollars expectations are that the program will run out of money on Monday.  First we bail out the auto industry with tax dollars.  Then we bail them out again by offering tax money to pay for people to buy their old inventory.  People are going into more debt by purchasing a new vehicle.  The positive environmental impact of the program is non-existent.  And yet the masses are happy?  Why?  Ignorant?  Short sited? 

For those who are looking to purchase a new car but your old car doesn’t apply to the government program check out what some car dealers are doing.  They’ve created their own car stimulus package.

This is probably already viral but it’s a double edged sword.  It makes me want to bang my head on the shear stupidity.    But it’s also funny ala Jay Leno’s Jaywalking.     I gotta go find some vegetable trees.

• Oh Jack.  You and Larry are hilarious.  I remember when you two were trying to make the Orioles team.  It is amazing that the Mitchell Report is filled with Yankees and Orioles yet no Red Sox players.  I read about half of it before it got REALLY boring.
• TCBY is making it’s return!  We’ve been to Caliyogurt and we like it.  I think mostly because you can make your own and load up on the toppings you really want – like all the unhealthy ones.
• Does anyone really care?  I’m sorta surprised there’s still a comic.  Guess I’m un-American like those protesting the proposed healthcare reform plans.

No luck in finding the little rodent.  Traps haven’t napped anything yet.  It’s just a wait-n-see game now.  So while we wait here are few articles to keep us busy.

• Obama never did clarify his stance on NAFTA.  But the push to ‘Buy American’ is.  I find that odd since Canada is part of North America.  Buying from Canada would be “buying American” as opposed to buying from China or Japan.  Are our politicians that dumb that they don’t know where Canada is?
