  • What a Memorable Weekend …

Yes, it’s time to reflect and remember those war veterans who have and are serving this beloved country.  It also is a time for people to get married.  I think this is the third time I’ve attended a wedding over a Memorial Day weekend.  (For those folks – Happy Anniversary!)  Some friends of ours got married on Saturday and one of the biggest concerns was the weather.  The hope for sunshine and no rain for an outside wedding.  I’m sure there were other concerns for the bride and groom but this was the one that most knew about.

The weather was perfect, the ceremony was beautiful, the groom was giddy.  I remember that feeling when I got married to Chewy.  Or maybe it was a sigh of relief, I’m not too sure.   But to suddenly realize that the two of you are one not just before each other eyes, but before Gods eyes, your families eyes and all that care about you.  It’s an amazing feeling.  Not only did we get to celebrate with them on Saturday, we also got to do so on Sunday at church.  For them they’re leaving this coast to go west and start the next chapter of their lives.  They’re good friends and they’ll be missed.

During service we sang this song in their honor – sorta sappy but nonetheless …

So until next time, we wish you well.  May God continue to bless you both as you two grow together in spirit and in Christ.
