  • Interesting, Very Interesting …

    • For those interested about how their credit rating is doing there are a few free and low-cost solutions out there that don’t include a company that employs jingle ads.
    • Interesting article in today’s Washington Post about how Montgomery Country is dropping the label “gifted” for certain students.  I’m sure some parents would find this offensive since without it their beloved “super” child would be nothing more than normal, if not potentially average.  We all know that being “average” just ruins the psyche of a young child and they’ll never achieve their full potential in life!!!!   While reading the article it talked about two-fifths of Montgomery Country students are labeled “gifted.”  So if they’re no longer labeled as such, does that mean they’re actually the norm now?  Therefore, the other three-fifths are either below average or worse????
    • Lastly, in response to the Why Believe In God campaign by the AHA, apparently several Christian groups have started a counter-ad war.  Though this may help Metro with some potential funding issues (always a good thing I guess, helps keep our fares down) it seems like WGTS 91.9FM has put out the biggest response.  If you’d like to state your case about Why Do You Believe, feel free to do so!  For myself, there’s probably a multitude of reasons as to why I actually believe but the most important one is that I’m a sinner.  Plan and simple.  I don’t deserve anything.  Yet, God sacrificed His Son for me (and all you all too ).  Grace is a powerful thing.
In this day and age it’s incredibly hard to feel utterly worthless.  It’s not a self-confidence issue.  It’s not a complex thrusted upon me by my parents that I’m worse than everyone else.  It’s just a realization that I’m pretty much worthless.  Worthless in a monetary sense.  Worthless in a humanistic sense.  That I’m just a blob of matter and ultimately whatever I do I really have no control over my own destiny or life.  Yet, somone loves me for what I am, even a worthless sinner  that I am.  For all that I think I have accomplished on my own, I realize that there’s no friggin way I’d actually was able to do such things without the power of Christ.  My worth is only meaningful when viewed through the eyes of God and not by man.

My self is nothing.  Only in Christ am I anything.

  • Almost Last Minute Ideas …

As I continue my own search for the rest of the Christmas gifts that I want to give to folks, I did stumble upon a few that I found interesting.

Like toast?  Got a friend who’s always on the computer and tends to have poor nutritional habits?  Why not give them the ability to make food while surfing the web or playing their favorite PC games?  Go get them the amazing USB Toaster!
Continuing with the toast theme.  You know you have someone in your life that loves Star Wars!  Why not get them something that even the Sith Lord himself would enjoy.  Toast with his own mug on it.  Hmmmmm toasty!  No, it’s the Darth Vader Toaster.
For those that wear boots AND like Disney characters there are these interesting Disney Boot Keepers.  Apparently, they help keep the shape and form of the boots that sit in.  I have no clue where I saw this at.
Edit: Figured out where I saw these at – a Japanese store nonetheless.

I thought this was the best one of them all.  Especially, as I see plenty of people who look like they would never go camping yet carry similar water bottles around.  (I fit that mold perfectly =)  There needs to be some folk who proudly display this “I Will Never Take This Camping” water bottle around.  No clue if it’s BPA-free.
  • OMG!!!  They DO Exist!

An Asian Republican got voted into Congress from Louisiana.  First a Indian-American Governor and now this.  Times are changing.  Times are changing.  Too bad we can’t start the 2012 chants since he’s an immigrant.  Oh well it’s a start.

  • Tis the Season …

As we come closer to celebrating the birth of our Savior we should expect to see more of these type of things.  Though I don’t condone the stealing of the item I expect Satan to continue to attack those who reject him and to fuel the fire for those who ignore the truth about our Savior, Jesus Christ.  Was it wrong to remove the item without permission – Yes.  We are still called to obey the laws set by those who govern as we do have freedom of speech and freedom of religion.  However, I do see how Satan will continue to use these events to further tempt us into sinning and reject the opportunities to witness and demonstrate God’s love, grace and mercy.

Like I said, Tis the Season …

  • Random Friday …

    • The Juice is no longer loose  At least we’ll always have the Naked Gun trilogy
    • No TREE for YOU!  Actually starting today is fine.  I wonder who ratted them out.  Guess that’s living in Montgomery County!
    • Great article about D.C.’s school Chancellor Michelle Rhee
    • Lastly, the reason we do luv dem Democrats – such in-fighting is hilarious   Richardson is so much more qualified than Hillary.  Yet, he does what he does for political reasons and not for the best of the country.  Here I am supporting a Democrat (Richardson – he is qualified).  There are sooooo many better choices than Hillary.
  • Like We Didn’t Know This Was Going To Happen?

WowHe hasn’t even started and we’re gonna have four years of it.  For those that saw the Saddleback Church Townhall meeting earlier this year, these are the type of response that were given by Obama.   The current administration even asked his and his teams opinion about it and they basically deferred.  Greeeeaaaaaat.  But I guess that’s what the great people of the United States of America wanted since he did get voted in.

    Yep.  Superb leadership.

On a lighter note, did anyone see the news about the Bratz toy lineShibamura-prime pretty much sums it up with some art …

  • Flip. flip. Flip. flip.

Been busy lately but thought this might interest those in the area.  Though the video is fuzzy, I believe this is between Gallery Place and Judiciary Square on the Red Line.
