  • Simpsons: The Movie – Trying to avoid the housework I’m supposed to be doing I had heard awhile ago that to promote the upcoming Simpsons movie they were going to transform twelve 7-Elevens into Kwik-E-Marts!  That’s just cool.  What’s even cooler is that one of the twelve (sounds like LotR) is located in Bladensburg, Maryland!  How sweet is that.  Squishee anyone?

Battle of the Wii: One of my brothers won a Wii from a work conference (lucky him) so while we were enjoying some family time on the 4th I had finally experienced the wonderful, enjoyment called Wii.  Mostly just trying the Wii Sports one could break it down such as this:

    • Wii Bowling vs real bowling – I bowl about the same score which if you think about it is sorta sad.  Virtual bowling should be so much easier – it’s not like I’m lofting a 16 lb ball around (for the record I typically use a 12 or 13 lb ball)
    • Chewy can smack all of us in Wii Tennis.
    • Chewy can smack all of us in Wii Baseball.
    • We have no idea on how to play Wii Boxing – that or we’re just too out of shape.
    • They simplified Wii Golf, it’s still fun nonetheless – I wonder how Michelle Wie would do in that.  *snicker*
  • Botcon 2007: It’s not about the Transformers, it’s about standing in line

  • Botcon 2007: Definitely a cast of characters

  • We are back from BOTCON!  (or Boston depending on whom you talk to )  Still trying to get unpacked, organized and rested but it was a fun vacation.  Pictures are coming soon so until that happens here are a few teaser thoughts of the past few days:

    1. There are some passionate Transformers freaks err fans out there.  It’s almost a way of life it seems.  I wonder if those who have Christ as their savior are as passionate as these people are.
    2. At least a quarter of the people there are overweight.
    3. It could have been me (I doubt it but I’ll at least say it) but a decent amount of the fans have some serious BO issues.
    4. I kept on having flashbacks of Chris Farley’s SNL “do you remember” skits.
    5. There are some bitter, bitter fans who also happen to be a tad B-otchy if you know what I mean.
    6. During a panel with David Kaye, he asked the group where they traveled from which allowed responses by the fans.  One fan’s method of emphatically raising his hand reminded me of Horshack from Welcome Back Carter.  A split second after I started to chuckle I realized that I had conscientiously attended this convention and I was part of the group people listening to David Kaye.
    7. I heard several people state they were unemployed but still had to come to Botcon because IT WAS BOTCON!
    8. I kept on hearing this while I was there “It’s a Transformers convention, there aren’t any girls here!”  In reality about 5-10% of the group were females (sorta like the females that were in my Computer Science classes ) and from what I gathered some were mothers, some were girlfriends/wives forced to join in, those genuinely interested in Transformers and then those that were just plain scary.

Yep, it was a fun and interesting past few days.
