  • Are
    you being “Bamboozled”?

    Probably most
people don’t even think about this because they are already set in their minds
how certain things work, don’t work or just don’t care.
Whether it’s about the role of welfare, minimal wage, religion, abortion,
race or education; people usually tend to think of only one side of the
two-sided coin.  It doesn’t matter if
you’re a Democrat, Republican, liberal or conservative you should read this
    book.

    Yes, the viewpoint is skewed
towards conservatism and the Republicans but if you think you’re neither then
you probably haven’t seen the other side of the coin just yet.  I consider myself a moderate conservative
and though I don’t totally buy all the arguments Ms. McGlowan makes, the book
is an easy read of historical facts, imbedded humor and to some extent a mind
opening experience of the political and social state of the United States of
America that and there are tons of examples of famous people putting their foot
in their mouths.  I mean she’s got
quotes from Judge Joe Brown.  Yes, THAT
    Judge Joe Brown!

    In Chapter 5: Unholy
    Alliance
a quote from Bishop John Gimenez:

You’ve got the left wing and the
right wing, but neither one can fly without the other.  The bird doesn’t fly unless it has two
wings.  So I’m both Democrat and
Republican, but above that I’m Christian.
And that’s the bird that I want to see fly.

Just that statement alone got me examining what I stand for and believe in, terms of US policy, is on par with what God has to say.
