It’s interesting that a Jesuit school such as Georgetown would try and curb evangelism on campus. Reading the article I don’t buy it’s arguments of religious acceptance and tolerance. It’s a Jesuit school! It’s like sending a non-Christian kid to a Catholic elementary school. There’s an understanding that it would be a God centered place of education. (No side priest jokes please
) I find it weird and unfortunately helps solidifies my thoughts on the downward spiral of this country at least in terms of falling away from it’s original Christian viewpoints, morality and beliefs. Then again, the flip side could be that there’s so much evangelism from other non-Christian religions that the school feels the need to do such a thing. That again would solidify my thoughts but makes the argument more interesting.
stooopid door … as it always works out, the last door (of 8) that I’m trying to replace is in no way a standard size door!Standard width but my replacement door is half an inch longer and the door knob is no where near it should be at. Oh well, it’s already taken me a year to almost finish this project up what’s a few more days … weeks … ok maybe months.
(realistically all I need to do is cut that extra half-inch off and do another lock cutout in the door jab. The half-inch should be easy but the lock cutout I’m thinking could be some trouble which if doubled would make Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light.)

- This just makes me sick. Mostly because we’re going to be lumped into this one particular group because of the type of car we drive. I know there are passionate and sometimes overzealous people out there, especially those championing to protect the environment but people really just need to get a grip. We live in America where we have freedom of choice. We have the right to voice our opinions but not act them out in a violent nature. I hope the cops catch the vandals and prosecute them to the full extent of the law to show that this behavior will not be tolerated within our so-called civilized society. Then I would hope Hummer gives this man a new Hummer so he can park it in his neighborhood while also keeping his vandalized Hummer on the street to make it an eyesore. These people did it to showcase a message and he should do the same. Then I’m sure all those fancy-pants home owners will complain about their property values going down. boo hoo
- Welcome residence of Maryland, your government is trying to bamboozle you. A state that openly discourages the improvement of oneself at an economic level. A state that encourage handouts to those who choose not to better their status. Yes, tax cuts to help those in desperate need is fine but to justify that by raising taxes in a uneven way for those who have struggled to improve themselves through education, hard work or even by circumstance is stupid. Yes, we should all pay our fair share of taxes but this new law will drive out those who have money and employ those that seek it. These people will leave and viola less jobs, less tax money and more handouts. Way to go O’Malley. At least come up with a better reason than what you’re giving us. Just tell the truth that you’re trying to find a way to cover the $1.5 billion deficit instead of trying to control spending. Good thing Ehrlich left you that rainy day fund that you drained away already. And people blame the Republicans for being fiscally irresponsible. bah. Bamboozled again.
- Purified and chilled for your enjoyment. At least that’s what they tell us at work. eck. Guess I should bring my own water to work now.

My mind must be wired strangely because I had two first thoughts (I’m not sure how that happens) when I heard about the earthquake in Japan. It was good to hear the the fatalities were low (even if the number of those hurt are in the hundreds) because I know people in Japan and because of my PG County schooling I have no reference point of where they live versus where the quake was at. I pray that they’re all alright but the strange part is when I started to read about the radioactive water leak. To quote the Washington Post:
About 1.5 liters of slightly radioactive water spilled out of the
cooling pool for spent fuel rods, leaked into another supply of water,
and 315 gallons of that water were pumped into the sea, said Hiro
Hasegawa, the manager of corporate communications at Tokyo Electric
Power, by telephone.Wait. Did I just read RADIOACTIVE WATER PUMPED INTO THE SEA!!!! Isn’t that how Godzilla was born! …
Godzilla … is … so … cool
This story is just disturbing. It just shows how many people are hurting around the world and that anyone with a personality can extort and brainwash these people. I’m curious though why there are so many charlatans that pretend to be Jesus Christ? Why not Buddha, Zeus or that other-dude-that-if-you-mention-his-name-in-any-shape-or-form-that-people-can-or-will-disagree-about-would -come-and-kill-you (I guess there are zealot clerks out there) one could surmise that Satan is real and why waste his time having his cohorts pretend to be these other dudes when a false Christ is the easiest form of taking people away from God. -
Are
you being “Bamboozled”?Probably most
people don’t even think about this because they are already set in their minds
how certain things work, don’t work or just don’t care.
Whether it’s about the role of welfare, minimal wage, religion, abortion,
race or education; people usually tend to think of only one side of the
two-sided coin. It doesn’t matter if
you’re a Democrat, Republican, liberal or conservative you should read this
book.Yes, the viewpoint is skewed
towards conservatism and the Republicans but if you think you’re neither then
you probably haven’t seen the other side of the coin just yet. I consider myself a moderate conservative
and though I don’t totally buy all the arguments Ms. McGlowan makes, the book
is an easy read of historical facts, imbedded humor and to some extent a mind
opening experience of the political and social state of the United States of
America that and there are tons of examples of famous people putting their foot
in their mouths. I mean she’s got
quotes from Judge Joe Brown. Yes, THAT
Judge Joe Brown! In Chapter 5: Unholy
Alliance a quote from Bishop John Gimenez:
You’ve got the left wing and the
right wing, but neither one can fly without the other. The bird doesn’t fly unless it has two
wings. So I’m both Democrat and
Republican, but above that I’m Christian.
And that’s the bird that I want to see fly.
Just that statement alone got me examining what I stand for and believe in, terms of US policy, is on par with what God has to say. -
Random news …
- Remember the old Seven Wonders of the World? (I don’t) Well there are seven new Wonders of the World ones as determined by those who vote on American Idol (just kidding =)
- I don’t get this whole “trying to get into the Guinness Book of World Records” thing.
- Projected box office results are in! TRANSFORMERS have hit it BIG! Apparently, the movie had a $150 Million budget which they made in less than seven days. All future ticket sales are bonus! (I believe the worldwide totals are close to $246 Million with several more openings in the upcoming weeks.) w00t!
