Month: January 2007

  • * The things you hear about on the radio.   I particularly like Rule #7.  And people wonder about the WWE.

    * Not sure how many people heard about this, sorta tragic and yet I feel there was a bit of Darwinism involved.  I mean come on, water intoxication poisoning?  Next I bet there’s going to be a Congressional movement to place warning labels on bottles of water.  Still it’s sad because the lady had three kids and well someone died.

    * I am NOT PARANOID!  Convenience verse security.  Maybe just a tad paranoid.

    * Some interesting 24 stuff.  One I’m still filtering the other I’m just not sure about:

  • I must strive for five!  (This would have been good when I was growing up – too bad I’m allergic to a quarter of the list.)

And for those that luv ramen.

  • OH MY!  The first four hours of Season Six of 24 has just finished.  At first I thought it was going way too slow.  But the last ten minutes of Hour Four were as intense as the first ten minutes of Season Five.  I wonder what my heart rate is right now.  I’m on a frickin TV high right now.

Jack is back.  Oh how Jack is back.

  • It sounds too much like a bad novel.

  • I am such the toy addict.

Transformers Attacktix Series 2 pictures were released today!  Series 1 wasn’t bad.  Nice sculpts and selection of various Cybertron and Energon figures but Series 2 just blows it out the water.  G1 characters in all their glory – especially G1 Prowl!  Sweeeeet!

As with McFarlane’s Lost Action Figures, they announce some upcoming Jack Bauer Box Sets.  I wonder if House is next to be represented by McFarlane.

  • Apple should just call it the MEphone.

  • We luv Cal!  Maryland’s favorite son, Cal Ripken Jr. was elected into Major League Baseballs Hall of Fame today.  Congratulations to Cal for his hard work, perseverance and his all around love for the game.  The pride of Maryland and of the Baltimore Orioles!

I smell a sequal!  A scorpion stung a passenger on a plane the other day.
ack!  A movie was made already!

  • This can’t be good.  Nor the fact that this word was created.

  • Over my 10-day holiday at my in-laws I was able to spend
quality time with Chewy’s side of the family while also being the resident
computer support and home repair person.
I think in those 10-days, I fixed more things in my in-laws house than I
have in the three years of living in my own house.    Not that I’m complaining, especially to some extent my own family
does the same thing.  I guess that’s
what being a good son (or son-in-law) entails: Doing and not complaining.

I remember seeing a bumper sticker while
traveling back home: Be Happy – Your mom chose life.  True, it’s a pro-life sticker yet in some sense it is true.  I have joy because Christ is my savior and
when looking back on my life there are always things that have brought
happiness to different segments of my life.
Yes, do less complaining in this new year, I shall.  And no matter what Chewy thinks I did have a
good time there.  Heck, we watched Star
    Wars: Episodes I thru VI
(yes, that’s all six episodes) on a 42” widescreen TV as well as seeing the Terps win the
Champs Sport Bowl in High Def.

    Some
    things to note:

    • Props to Accuride rails
for sending us replacement detents that had gone bad.  Talking to their support they were quick with helping me
determine how to fix a drawer that would keep opening up and not staying
      shut.
    • We went to see the
Nutcracker.  It was the first time
seeing a ballet as well as seeing the Nutcracker (I had no clue what it was
about).  The funniest part was when the
Nutcracker first came out in pseudo-human form he looked like the Burger King’s The King.  I couldn’t stop laughing.
Well laughing inside since we were at a respectable place.
    • We joined the Discovery Health
      National Body Challenge 2007
.  Chewy’s goal is to exercise
more and mine is to lose some weight.  I’ve gained about 60 pounds since high school and need/should lose about 15-20
      pounds.
    • (not totally related but still cool news) Lucas has said filming for the 4th Indiana Jones movie will start this year!

    If it hasn’t become passé:
    Happy New Year!
