  • That sweet number 6.

The Maryland Terrapins just defeated the Florida State Seminoles 27-24.  By defeating FSU, the Terps are now Bowl eligible with this six win.  BOWL ELIGIBLE!

  • 700 miles.

That’s the length of a recently approved border fence
between the United States and Mexico.  I
wonder if it’ll be visible from outer space.
This way if every nation starts to put up huge walls on their borders
then the space aliens will see the Earth as we look at globes.  All we need to do is start etching out the
United States of America across the country so that could be seen from outer
    space as well.

  • These T-shirts are just too funny …

It’s funny because a few weeks ago Waldo was mentioned in a sermon and it made me think, only for a second, about where he was now a days.  As you can see, he’s fallen unto hard times.  But thankfully, he was found.  (In some sense, that’s how we are before we find Christ.  Wandering around aimlessly taking in life.  A life with no real meaning and sins.  But the world becomes so different when we find Christ.)

Ah, what I wouldn’t have given for this shirt in
college, or in high school.  Well maybe even in middle school.  All
right, even now today I think my introverted self tends to get in the way of
    building relationships with people.  There
are times and things that I’m very proactive about.  That usually does not include when it’s time to start talking to
people.  Especially people I don’t know
or are new at church or at work or in witnessing.
Living in the corner of the room with a TV and a computer is perfectly fine with
me.  I still wonder sometimes, how I got
hooked up.  Must be my looks and
    humility.  HA!  I kill me.

This T-shirt can be ordered here.

Funny just because I had recently (well several months ago) found out
that my cousin was a huge Batman fan as a wee kid.  Plus it reminds me
of the Batman movie where Michael Keaton keeps saying I’m Batman.  Hilarious.

This shirt can be found here.

  • How cool would it be to own this and display it in your house?  Original Comic Art is priceless.  Though in this case, that price is a new car (or a lot of other things).  But still, original comic art is soooooo cool.

  • Woo hoo!

Firefox 2 has been released!  If you can’t wait for your version to auto-download itself you can snarf it from here.  Neat new features as said by one of my co-workers:

It is very nice, but with very little change in many ways so it is an easy transition. The things I’m appreciating the most so far are the improvements in the tab bar: It now scrolls so that the tabs don’t shrink down to be unusable, there’s a close button on each tab, and there’s a drop-down menu on the right that will give you a list of all the  open tabs, with full, untruncated titles. Another nice thing is a spell checker built into the editable-text control, so you automatically get on-the-fly spell checking when entering text in a web form such as a blog comment. The scariest thing is probably the recommended-search function; when you start entering text into the google box in he menubar, it gives you an autofill-type drop down with likely completions, including many that you never entered before. For example, enter the word “Kentucky”, and it will play word-association with you, suggesting a bunch of completions such as “…fried chicken”, “…wildcats”, “…state parks”, etc.

    Take that IE7!

  • Sad part I (and a reason for that old Calc book)

Sad in the sense of the world that we live in.  Textbooks as shields.  That was the suggestion of a candidate for state superintendent of schools.  I grant them some probs for thinking outside the box but why did we even let it come to this?

    Sad part II

Sad sure tastes like a pineapple, ham and mushroom Papa John’s Pizza.  Not so sad anymore.

  • It really is sad.

It’s sad when you root for your favorite team to win and then when they start to get blown out you start to hope they just score a few more touchdowns.  More touchdowns to satisfy your desire for more free toppings on the Redskins Papa John’s special.  The Redskins lost to the Colts 22 to 36.  Three Redskins touchdowns were scored so that’s three toppings for the pizza.

The Skins suck this year so I can only root for the pizza toppings now.

  • From serious to not so serious …

  • A friend’s recent thought about the book we’re studying in
    our cellgroup.

We just hit the chapter on spiritual guidance and I remember
the first time I read this book about how I felt like Jacob before God gave him
    his vision
.  So unaware of how God is a
living God; that He’s all around us, there and available to lead us if we so
desire to listen to Him.  Our desire for
guidance should be based upon how our actions can further His kingdom and bring
glory to the Almighty father.  It only
makes sense to ask God for guidance in the context of a life committed to
    “seeking first the kingdom.”
      Not to
determine whether we should take path A or path B because we want to feel less
pain or feel less uncertainty.  For
God’s purpose in guidance is not to get us to perform the right actions.  His purpose is to help us become the right
    kind of person.

That I think is the hardest part: to become the right kind
of person in the eyes of God.   Society
has filled us up with so much crap that my mind begins to push God out, to lose
focus on His kingdom.  This mindlessness
and passivity towards “listening” for God begins to numb my desire to glorify
Him by hesitating and questioning if my actions really mean much.  It is in these things that Satan begins to
work.  My ears numb to Gods voice but
only aware to my own selfish desires.

Therefore, I must seek His guidance.  Seek, listen and discern.  Passivity must turn to actions.  Mindlessness must turn to focus.  The willingness to desire the things of His
kingdom comes first.  That is the Godly guidance
    I seek.

    To glorify God.

  • Trying to perfect making pan-fried noodles.  Tonight’s version has red bell peppers, asparagus,
red onions, garlic and chicken.  Sorta
forgot the shiitake mushrooms and still haven’t gotten the hang of pan-frying the noodles just right.
