  • We had our first worship service in the new church building
today.  It really was an incredible day
to be in worship and thanksgiving with fellow believers.  I somewhat felt I had missed part of being
with this church family during the closing and opening ceremonies last week
because I was running around moving equipment or trying to set up sound stuff.  However, God does provide and no matter what
I may feel or would like to feel His will needs to be the focus of my
    desires.

    With about 10 minutes before
service started today, everything sound-wise was setup and I had an opportunity
to just sit in the balcony and observe the church and the people within.  It was an awesome feeling to know that God
was here, today in our presence and I felt that He was pleased with everyone’s
efforts.  Pleased with those who spent
the time to polish the brass, clean and shine the pews, vacuumed the floor,
moved boxes from one room to another and then back into the original room, moved
items from the old church to this building and the countless other things that
His people did.  It was a nice bit of
quiet time in prayer and then back to reality when Pastor Charles began to
speak, I realized his microphone wasn’t on.
    Ack!

  • hey, i didn’t notice the mic thing at all ;) thanks for supporting behind the scenes! today indeed was exciting.

  • Hahaha, great story & observations. How’s the parking? Yeah, one of these days I’ll try to make it over. Too many commitments for Sunday service (not enuf backups). I remember those sound duty days. I’ve even thought working as a backup-backup soundboard person to help out and re-live those glory days. Y’all still usin’ those Macke boards? I think ours went kaput and we’re a different brand now. Say ‘hi’ to everyone there for me. Blessings to ya little brother.
