  • Thought 1: Another Reason Why Ted is Cool!
Besides buying the Washington Capitals several years ago and
helping breathe new life into the club look at what he’s doing now.

    Thought 2: Tongue-and-cheek?
I can’t tell if Norton was in on this or not but considering
how “highly” I think of her I couldn’t stop laughing.  Click Here For Video Clip

I especially like Colbert’s response to the “race card” issue …
    it’s like MasterCard.  Priceless.

    Thought 3: 30 Days of Disappointments …
I was up late last night doing some research on a few
computer problems and I started to watch a rerun of the season premiere of 30
    Days
.  (Morgan Spurlock of Supersize Me
fame does 30 Days.)  The episode was
about sticking a guy who legally immigrated to the US and who is a member of
the Minutemen and having him live with an illegal immigrant family for 30
days.  I remember seeing ads for this
episode and them saying this may change your views.  Blah blah blah
Unfortunately, I missed the original airing of the episode so I guess
it’s worth staying up late to watch it.
So far my views still haven’t changed.
Yes, I feel sympathy for these people who strive for a better life.  But the families thinking was that all
because they were good people that that negated the fact that they came here
illegally.  Doing right does not negate
the wrong.  This is not karma.  The Minuteman guy continues to argue with
one of the kids about the difference of what legal and illegal is while the kid
just sits there and ask why should it matter if the underlying desire of the
people are good.  They send the
Minuteman to Mexico to meet the rest of the extended family and to see how they
were living before.  This just reminds
me of NBC’s sappy Olympic coverage of the athletes – all human-interest stories
and no real content about the events.
What this show did was try to make people feel sorry and sympathize with
this and potentially all illegal immigrants because of their past and current
living conditions.  True, as humans we
need to feel and show compassion to those less fortunate but also remember that
there are ways to accomplish this that are within the bounds of the laws that
govern us.  I’m just on a rant.

  • Currently listening to:

Henry Kapono is The Wild Hawaiian.  Why the significance of listening to the big
man?  Mostly because on our flight from
the Big Island to Oahu as we were about to get off the plane some girls sitting
in front of us started to go berserk.
    Like rock-n-roll groupie berserk.
They started asking this guy if he had any CDs, if they could take a
picture with them, etc, etc.  We were
somewhat confused since we had no clue who this guy was.  At least not until we saw a billboard posting
for an upcoming concert of his.  Man, we
were so close to a real celebrity!
Should have, could have taken a picture but we didn’t.  Guess his recent CD will have to do.

  • For my brother (and anyone else =)

  • Did you forget that today is System Administrator Appreciation Day?  What special thing did you do for your Sys Admin?

  • Finally a good use for a camera phone – two co-workers were
arguing about the normal cost of asparagus.
One argued that a bunch normally costs at least $3.99 or more.  The other argued that they are only $2.99 a
bunch and suddenly whips out his phone and shows us that he took a picture of
the asparagus cost sign from his grocery store.  How can you argue with a picture that shows $2.99 a bunch?  (Of course we all know the cost of asparagus
    fluctuates with its growing season.)

  • The Japanese think of everything!  I’m sure this could help some bachelors that
I know.  Too bad it’s only in Japanese.

  • Instead of sharks with lasers on their heads I think I need some unicorn sharks!!

This new show has got to be good!  It’s hosted by STAN LEE!!!!!

  • Bush was the chosen One!

If you’ve never heard of Robot Chicken by Seth Green, it’s a
15-minute show on Cartoon Networks Adult Swim line.  It’s basically classic stop-action video of pop culture,
political and sometimes completely insane, hilarious stuff.  I saw this last night and couldn’t stop
    laughing.

    W wuz hear

  • An interesting statistic about the things we worry about (From
Pastor Michaels of Church In the City and I have no other source to actually back
this up but even still its interesting.)

40% of the things we worry about never happen
30% of the things we worry about we have no control over the
    outcome
22% of the things we worry about are mostly considered
    “little” things in life

Therefore, 92% of the things we worry about really are of no
consequence.  So why do we worry so much?
Is it possible to do what Paul says in Philippians and lift the remaining 8% up to
God?  Or are we at a point where we just
need to worry and leave God out of it?

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And
the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts
and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
