Month: May 2006

  • Ugh, so tired yesterday morning that I tried to use the TV
remote to turn off the alarm clock.  I’m
glad today’s a day off even if we did wake up to no electricity in the house.

  • In honor of the Veterans who lost their lives, we decided to watch Saving Private
    Ryan
on DVD.  I truly believe this is a movie that all Americans
and those wishing to immigrate to America should watch – to learn and see the horrors
of war and the price of freedom that was paid so we could enjoy it in the
    future.

  • all I need is a 2-liter of soda and some mentos … (why does this sound like something MacGyver would do?)

My co-workers heard about this today and proceeded to try it out during lunch.  I didn’t get a chance to witness it but they said it really did work.

  • What a week it’s going to be!

    Monday: 24 – 2-Hour Season Finale
                Alias – 2-Hour
    Series Finale
    Tuesday: House – Season Finale
Wednesday: Lost – 2-Hour Season Finale
    Thursday: Work on Bible study
    Friday: Bible study
Saturday: Scheduled work day at work
Sunday – Monday: Replace railing on deck

  • I can see why the Nationals aren’t on TV …

I got a chance to watch a few innings last night of the O’s
vs Nats game before Bible study.  Then
after getting back from Spy Museum, I’m watching inning the game on TV.  Man these announcers suck!  The cameraman sucks!  Patterson steals second and the only camera
angle they have is of home and first.
Lopez lays a bunt with Orioles taking second and third and the cameraman
zoom onto the Nats player fielding the bunt.
Chewy says I should turn off the sound and listen to the game on the
radio to hear the better Orioles announcers.
    That’s not a bad idea.

As for the Spy Museum, I can at least say it’s off our list
of things to do.  It was somewhat
    boring.  Nothing really exciting except
for a little blurb about how Alias was so popular that the CIA got Jennifer Garner to
do a recruiting promo for them.  Yeah,
exciting.  Oh yeah, the gift store had
this ’20 Questions’ toy and it was so wrong on what I was thinking.  Of course it was Transformers and it
    thought minidisk player.  I’ve outsmarted
technology once again!  Where’s Big Blue
    and my chessboard?

  • Geek-Week vs Joss Whedon

Joss is so cool.  I miss Buffy …
    and Angel …
    and Firefly …

  • What has happened to the common sense of the people?

Man denied bag says Angels discriminated.

And to think I was just talking about frivolous lawsuits with a co-worker
    today.

The Juice is loose! (via pay-per-view and coming soon to DVD)

Looks funny and sounds funny (CNN Review) but I think I’ll resist.    I still can’t understand how the man is acquitted of murder charges and then loses a civil suit saying he was responsible.  My heart goes out to the victims family but this still doesn’t make sense to me.  Oh well.  The Juice is loose!
  • Finally!  I finally
read something that makes sense in the Washington Post.

“I realized that America had freedom, honesty,” she said. “All these
people, these illegals, are abusing this. Americans are giving them
everything and they are incapable of saying, ‘I broke the law.’ Instead
they are saying, ‘I came to your country illegally and I want to wave
    my Mexican flag.’ “

I still can’t believe this was in the Liberal
    Post
.  But at least there are people out there making sense.

    Happy Birthday Mom!
